Prognosis of traffic behavior of inhabitants
Kobzová, Hana ; Rorečková, Iva (referee) ; Všetečka, Martin (advisor)
This diploma thesis focuses on the development of modal split, as a fundamental indicator determining travel behavior for traffic model forecasting. Firstly, approaches to traffic forecasting in the Czech Republic are described, and an emphasis is put on non-uniform definitions and factors influencing modal split. The body of the thesis describes methods of establishing, as well as the development and objective of the modal split in Brno, Zurich, Dresden, Nurnberg, and Vienna. For each city, the effects of traffic network changes on modal split and travel behavior are evaluated. Finally, the observed trends are compared with each other.
Changes in traffic behaviour over the course of a lifetime: findings from a retrospective questionnaire survey
Nejedlá, Štěpánka ; Marada, Miroslav (advisor) ; Zevl, Jiří-Jakub (referee)
This bachelor thesis thematically falls under the topic of mobility biographies. The research focuses on events during the life of individuals that change their thinking about the choice of means of transport or influence the conditions under which the choice is made. Since this perspective on traffic behaviour research has been practised abroad for many years, this bachelor's thesis will be based on already obtained results from foreign countries. The main goal of this work will be to identify these events and determine their influence on the choice of means of transport. The methods used were a retrospective questionnaire, which brought information about the traffic behaviour, both from the present and especially from the past. The retrospective questionnaire was in the online form on social networks and distributed with the help of personal contacts. Ninety-two respondents filled out the questionnaire. Through the research in this thesis, it was found that traffic behaviour in our conditions is changing, namely based on key events that were among the most frequently mentioned in research in foreign countries as well. The impact of key events is different, and the power with which they can change the choice of transport mode is also diverse. All the events mentioned in this work, however, somehow...
Changes in transport behavior and modal-choice by students on the route from České Budějovice to Prague
Hornych, Lukáš ; Marada, Miroslav (advisor) ; Chmelík, Jakub (referee)
This thesis aims to modal-choice and changes of transport behaviour, especially for students on the route from Praha to České Budějovice. The route is chosen due to expanding of the highway and to newly introduced bus and train services. The category of the students is interesting terms to limited options in the context of finances in relation to employees. The comparison of the preferences of these groups is the goal of the thesis. The goal verification has been completed by quantitative and qualitative research by questionnaire. The questionnaire for employees was created by Public opinion research centre, while the questionnaire for the students was created specifically by the author of the thesis. Contrary to the original assumptions, the thesis found that students prefer travel time ahead of the price and employees prefer flexibility ahead of the travel time. The goal of this thesis is determination of meaning chosen factors in modal-choice and monitoring differences of these factors between employees and students. Further, the thesis evaluate competitiveness each of transport modes on the chosen route. Keywords: modal-choice, transport behaviour, public transport
Perception of benefits resulting from Chrudim road bypass and its influence on traffic behaviour of inhabitants
Janoušková, Hana ; Petráš, Marek (advisor) ; Pšenička, Petr (referee)
The bachelor thesis deals with the perception of the benefits of the bypass of Chrudim and its influence on the traffic behavior of the population. The first part of the thesis is focused on theoretical framing of the researched issue. The main topics addressed are traffic behavior, modal choice, the NIMBY effect and the subsequent integration of these topics into the context of the city's transport infrastructure and the construction of bypasses. For the analytical part of the thesis, the city was divided into 15 areas. The perception of the bypass and changes in traffic behavior in relation to the distance of their residence from the bypass were monitored by means of an online questionnaire. This was followed by an additional field survey in 6 selected areas and an interview with the head of the Transport Department of the town of Chrudim. It was found that the bypass is perceived positively by the inhabitants of the city and is mostly used by the people who live in its vicinity. The results of the whole survey can be beneficial for future town planning.
Selected factors of mode choice on the Prague-Munich route in the context of the planned high-speed rail construction
Petříček, Jakub ; Marada, Miroslav (advisor) ; Chmelík, Jakub (referee)
The aim of this thesis is to define in more detail a safety factor, a factor of passage of time and an ecological behaviour factor influencing the mode choice on the Prague-Munich route in relation to railway as a reference mode, and to estimate the change in mode choice after HSR completion with emphasis on defined factors. The work qualitatively analyzes the sets of ideas and understandings of selected factors, which in turn affect the travel behavior and the mode choice. Defining these factors creates space for estimating and proposing perspectives for the development of expected travel behavior in the context of the planned HSR system on the Prague-Munich route. The presented thesis discusses and interprets the comparison of selected factors between existing modes of transport. The significance of the thesis lies in the understanding and definition of selected factors that are important for HSR planning strategies between Prague and Munich. Keywords: high-speed rail, travel behaviour, transport safety perception, perception of time, grounded theory, theory of planned behavior

Factors affecting travel behavior in the context of FFPT: case study Frýdek-Místek
Štraub, Daniel ; Jaroš, Václav (advisor) ; Chmelík, Jakub (referee)
This diploma thesis studies the issue of travel behaviour in the systems with abolished fares of public transport, so called free fare public transport policy (FFPT), which aredominantly influencing the transport system in favour of one means of transport. The main aim of this paper is to figure out how the concept of FFPT is affecting the choice of means of transport and what is the influence of the FFPT on the dynamic in the given transport system. Besides conceptual framing of main theoretical knowledge regarding the issue of travel behaviour and development of transportation systems, the paper is using analysis of practical implementation of the FFPT concept and also, on the case of Frýdek- Místek, the case study of specifics system with implemented FFPT. The results indicate that introduction of the FFPT is effective way how to influence travel behaviour in the favour of public transport and to change conditions in the given transport system, which is then more variable. It's important to mention, FFPT concept does not represents universal tool how to influence development of transport systems while it is just one measure out of many others. Besides of focusing on specifics measurements it is important to systematically using different tools and its complementarity while development of...
Transport behavior of Dukovany Nuclear Power Plant employees and their motivation to move closer to workplace
Pokorný, Jan ; Jaroš, Václav (advisor) ; Květoň, Viktor (referee)

Identification of transport behavior is mainly based on choosing conveyance, which depends on individual economic conditions. Furthermore, it is linked to the accessibility of an area of person's residence and to the number of his or her family members. The data obtained from the questionnaires survey were analyzed and compared with the literature. At the end of the thesis, all the procedures and results of this work are evaluated and another possible extension of work is proposed. Key words: mobility, transport behavior, accessibility, commuting, economic migration, moving to workplace
